WSAV Awards and Recognitions

WSAV On Your Side News 3 honors and awardsWSAV has been recognized year after year for outstanding journalism, particularly in the areas of investigative reporting, smarter coverage of crime, and in-depth storm tracking.

Over the past 7 years, WSAV has received 53 honors from the Georgia Associated Press, 8 Bryan Awards, 7 Georgia Association of Broadcasters GABBY Awards, a regional Emmy — and an astounding 31 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, including Overall Excellence six out of the last seven years.

WSAV has been recognized for outstanding journalism FAR more than any Savannah area television station.

2014

2014 Democracy Award has been awarded to Dave Kartunen for his passion and positive difference at the state and local levels of government.

The Southeast EMMY Award for Continuing Coverage has been awarded to JoAnn Merrigan and Dave Kartunen for their work on the Affordable Care Act

A Gabby Award (Georgia Association of Broadcasters) for Investigative Reporting has been awarded to Dave Kartunen for Congressional Gift Travel
