Local outlets report Mount Pleasant police say 21-year-old Lawton Ellis Sterling was arrested early Wednesday and charged with attempted murder and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

Officers went to the home late Tuesday night and say they found the suspect covered in blood, exiting one of the rooms in the residence.

Officers also found 50-year-old Warren Rector Jr. and 56-year-old Donald Burgess bleeding and with stab wounds in another room.
