Athens daycare center faces lengthy repairs

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — It could be weeks or months before a storm-damaged daycare center in Athens can be reopened.

The Athens Banner-Herald (http://bit.ly/1ITT4IF ) reports a massive oak tree smashed into the Broadacres Homes on Monday afternoon.

Children and staff were in the building when heavy winds toppled the 80-year-old tree fell. Repairs may take weeks or months.

The children enrolled in the center are now going to a second center operated by the same company.
