Celebrating Black History: Zora Neale Hurston worked to preserve Gullah Geechee stories, songs

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Zora Neale Hurston, was a tremendous writer, folklorist, intellectual and anthropologist.

As an anthropologist, she recorded practices and songs of Gullah Geechee people from Beaufort County, to the Jacksonville area.
