UPDATE: Metro identifies pedestrian in fatal hit-and-run

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police officers responded to a fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian at approximately 8:30 p.m. on October 15.

A car collided with a pedestrian on the 3000 block of Ogeechee Road. Officers found a male subject in the roadway, suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The involved vehicle left the scene prior to officer arrival.

Police have identified the pedestrian as James McCurry, 55. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating the fatal accident.
