Southside Fire Department responds to gas leak

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Southside Fire Department units responded to reports of a gas leak early Wednesday afternoon.

A construction company working on Westlake Avenue struck a feeder line causing the leak.

Traffic was temporarily shut down by Savannah-Chatham Metro Police between Green Gate Court and Rainbow Avenue while emergency crews were on scene.

Southside Fire officials cleared the scene by 3:02 p.m. No injuries were reported.
