SAVANNAH, Ga. – Often when you see people at Grayson Stadium, they are head to toe in banana yellow but on Wednesday the color spectrum shifted to pink.
Dozens of people attended the kick-off event for Savannah’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The evening served as a rally to united the community and raise awareness for cancer detection, prevention, research and treatment.
Local survivors were also present to their stories.
“I am a five year survivor and thank God for that everyday, but being here today represents the fact of continuing. It’s like a continuation of begin able to give for more research. We’ve got to have the research,” Survivor Jackie Brown said.
The fundraiser culminates with a walk in Daffin Park on Sunday, October 15th. Now, the public is invited to join or form teams for the walk. For more information on how to sign up, volunteer and form a team, Click here
