UPDATE: Metro police ID victim in fatal shooting on W 57th Street

SAVANNAH, Ga (SCMPD) – Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police’s Violent Crimes detectives identify the victim of the shooting near an apartment complex on West 57th Street.

At about 1 a.m. on June 27, officers responded to the area and found the Joshua Williams, 24, suffering from life-threatening injuries.

He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Investigators do not believe this to be a random shooting.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (SCMPD) – Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department reports an early morning shooting with life-threatening injuries on West 57th Street.

According to police, one male victim was shot near the Montgomery Landing Apartments on 714 W 57th Street. No word yet on his condition or the whereabouts of the shooter.
