Talahi Island death ruled accidental drowning

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The death of the man pulled from the water near the Talahi Island Community Dock has been ruled an accidental drowning.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police first responded to reports of a possible drowning around 9 p.m. Monday night. Officers found the body of a 35-year-old missing swimmer around 11:30 p.m.

Witnesses told police Jesse Palmer had been swimming in the water and failed to resurface.

Metro officers, Marine Patrol, divers, firefighters, EMS and Eagle 1 were all involved in the two-hour search.
