Authorities identify victim in Hinesville shooting

The victim of the shooting has been identified as Clyde A. Weeks, 19. According to HPD Chief of Detectives, Weeks was shot multiple times during an altercation.

Reid said Philemon Jackson, 21 has been arrested and charged with murder, 3 counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon in the commission of a felony.  He has made a first appearance where bond is expected to be denied.


HINESVILLE – Hinesville Police Detectives are investigating a deadly shooting on Jubail Drive Wednesday shortly after 5 pm.

HPD Detective, Chris Reid said the shooting may have stemmed from an altercation outside a residence. The victim described as a 19 year old male was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville. According to the Liberty County Coroner the victim died Wednesday night. His identity has not been released.


 A person of interest has been detained for questioning.
