Since Hurricane Matthew, everyone wants to help out, and help folks get back on their feet.
One Hilton Head home business is taking a hands on approach to that.
Since the storm, Buona Terra Woodworks has been making specially designed trays made out of reclaimed wood.
Michelle Spadafora and her father fred do all the work out with their own hands, out of their own garage.
They decided to some of that work for the people, and the Deep Well Project.
“After the hurricane we came over the bridge and the devastation was incredible, we couldn’t get back to business as usual,” explained Michelle Spadafora, Buona Terra Woodworks. “I had an epiphany coming over the bridge and we need to give back to the community and those in need.
30% of the proceeds from Michelle’s trays goes right to Deep Well, which has been helped folks with power bills, rent and now toys for Christmas. They will also donate 10% of all sales to Deep Well.
Thanks to a viral marketing campaign, they are making almost 700 trays and have already donated $3600 to Deep Well, with more money and woodwork to come.
