18 students from the School of Liberal Studies at Savannah High took part in the Student Police Academy graduation ceremony on Monday, December 12, 2016.  The graduation was held in Courtroom F at the Chatham County Courthouse with the assistance of Superior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley.

Students who participate in the Student Police Academy Program are given a wide-ranging education on law enforcement policies and procedures through partnerships with SCMPD, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and Garden City Police.  Most say they plan to pursue a career in some aspect of criminal justice.

A number of students were also recognized for having taken FEMA courses during their time in the Academy.
