Lowcountry helps storm victims through holiday fun

Hilton Head, SC (WSAV)- Hilton Head Island isn’t letting Hurricane Matthew ruin their traditional holiday fun. They are making it a part of the celebration, though. This year the annual Dove Street Festival of Lights at Shelter Cove has representatives collecting donations for the Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund. The lights are on from 6pm-10pm nightly through December 31st.
A “Welcome Home Celebration” is planned for Saturday, December 10th to honor the Hilton Head Island town officials and first responders. It starts at noon at Shelter Cove and goes to 5pm. Several bands will provide entertainment. There is no admission fee but donations will go toward the Disaster Relief Recovery Fund.
