Three injured in off-campus shooting near GSU

STATESBORO, Ga – Police investigate a second shooting, within two months, at the Campus Crossing apartment complex near Georgia Southern’ s campus.

This time, three people suffered gunshot wounds.

It happened around 3:45 Thursday afternoon when Statesboro police responded to a shots fired call at the complex off of Lanier drive.

Police responded to the area, and then were led to Renaissance Apartments across the street.

Now, crime scene tape covers a portion of Campus Crossing as police investigate and monitor the scene.

Police are calling this and aggravated assault incident. So far, there is no word on the extent of the victims injuries or if they attend Georgia Southern.

No one is in custody at this time.
