Santa Claus Open Supports Children of Deployed Military – THIS SUNDAY
St. Helena, SC — Ho, ho, ho! Santa Claus is visiting the children of deployed military personnel from the Marine Corps Air Station early this year!
On Sunday, December 4, Santa Claus (supported by hundreds of Dataw Island “elves”) will be hosting a Lunch with Santa and a Toy Extravaganza. The children and accompanying adults will first be treated to a delicious kid-friendly complimentary lunch in the Carolina Ballroom of the Dataw Island Club. Following lunch, the kids get to visit with Santa for photos and the highlight for the kiddos…choosing a toy!
Concurrent to the Santa events, many Dataw members will be playing in the Christmas-themed “Santa Claus Open” golf tournament.
Now in its 15th year, Dataw’s Santa Claus Open day is supported entirely by members and at no cost to the attendees.
After the event, any excess toys will be packed up and sent to the MCAS Beaufort ‘Toys For Tots’ campaign.
“This is a long standing tradition at Dataw Island,” said Ted Bartlett, Dataw Island General Manager. “We are very proud of our members who are taking part in the recent Santa Claus Open Day and helping to provide Christmas toys for the children of Beaufort-area armed service personnel. Hosting charity outings such as this is a positive way to help the community and to assist those who are sacrificing for our freedoms.”
