SAVANNAH, Ga. – On Saturday friends and family will gather to remember the life of Master Fireman Michael Curry.
Curry, 42, of Pooler died last Saturday after suffering from an aortic aneurysm on duty while rescuing people who had fallen into the Savannah River after a dock collapsed.
His service will be held at Saint John’s Cathedral on Abercorn Street at 2:00 p.m..
There will also be a walking funeral processional. Curry’s casket will be transported by fire engine to the Savannah Fire and EMS Headquarters for a service.
Below is the route:
- West on Harris Street for two blocks to Bull Street.
- North on Bull Street to Oglethorpe Avenue.
- East on Oglethorpe Avenue for two blocks to Abercorn Street and the Savannah Fire Department Headquarters
Due to the procession and services, parking will be prohibited on East Harris Street between Abercorn Street and Oglethorpe Avenue, between Habersham Street and Whitaker Street starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
