Checkpoints scheduled Dec. 2-4 in Jasper County

Heads up lowcountry drivers!

A public safety checkpoint will be conducted December 2-4 throughout Jasper County. The measure is a way to help keep drivers safe on the roadways.

Officials with Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Ridgeland Police Department, Hardeeville Police Department, SC Department of Natural Resources, & SC Highway Patrol are partnering with the Jasper County TRUST Coalition to perform the safety check.

The following violations were reported during a checkpoint earlier in November:

  • No SC Driver’s License Issued (9)
  • No Driver’s License in Possession (1)
  • Expired Vehicle Tag (1)
  • Expired Decal (3)
  • Child Restraint Violation (1)
  • Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute (1)
  • Drug Paraphernalia (2)
  • Driving Under the Influence (1)
  • License Violations (2)
  • Driving Under Suspension (3)
  • Driver’s License Violations (2)
  • Simple Possession of Marijuana (3)
  • ABC Violation (3)
  • No Driver’s License (2)
  • Warnings (2)
  • Operating Uninsured Vehicle (4)
  • Open Container (1)
  • Tag registered to Another Vehicle (1)
  • Arrests (4)
  • Warrant for Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Breach of Trust (1)
  • Warrant for Ridgeland Police Department Criminal Domestic Violence – 3rd Degree (1)
