SAVANNAH, Ga (WSAV) – Members of the Savannah firefighter union IAFF L574 confirm to News 3 a ceremony will be held to memorialize fallen Master firefighter Michael Curry this afternoon.
The ceremony is informal and will involve flowers being placed at Savannah Fire headquarters off of Oglethorpe Avenue in Downtown Savannah around 2 P.M..
Curry was rushed to Candler Hospital Saturday while the department was responding to a dock collapse along East River Street. Officials say he was suffering from a medical condition and later died at the hospital.
The Savannah fire department was scheduled to host a memorial service Sunday honoring the past years service of members in the department. That service has been since postponed due to the untimely death of Curry.
