Beaufort, SC (WSAV)- A 17-year-old John Duncan will be tried as an adult for the murder of another 17-year-old on Coligny Beach last summer.
A family court judge made the ruling in Beaufort County Friday.
Duncan is charged with opening fire on the Hilton Head Island beach in July of 2015, killing Dominique Williams.
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a shooting death at Coligny Beach access. Investigators say the victim was shot at the beach access around 8:20 Sunday evening. He died at the scene. he has now been identified as 17 year old Dominique Williams of Hilton Head Island.
Authorities are searching for a suspect described as an African American juvenile male with a slender build standing between 5’9” and 6 feet tall. He was reportedly wearing a black shirt and black pants at the time of the shooting. The incident is still under investigation.
