Members of The 200 Club partnered up with The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department for the “Red, White and Blue Barbecue” for First Responders in Chatham County.
Volunteers started preparing the tasty take-out Thursday morning, but they were busy throughout the day—delivering meals to 1,700 First Responders for the lunch, dinner and midnight shifts.
Mark Dana, the President of The 200 Club of the Coastal Empire, says it’s the organizations way of showing appreciation to First Responders for keeping communities safe during Hurricane Matthew.
“The outpouring of support we received from our community leaders, business leaders–came together and we all decided that we’re going to do what we can to give back…because I think everybody was impacted by that storm one way or another,” Dana told News 3.
The 200 Club provides financial relief for the families of fallen officers and firefighters.
