Teen shot in Savannah High’s parking lot

SAVANNAH, Ga. – One 16-year-old girl is recovering after being shot in the leg in Savannah High’s parking lot.

It happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday night when 20 to 30 students were in the lot along with some adults.

Police said they heard 15 gun shots with one of those hitting the Jenkins High student.

She was rushed to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

Police blocked off part of Capital Street as they investigated the area. They did recover some cases and found property damage to homes and cars along the street.

Police said there was an event at the school, which is why everyone was there so late.

So far, there are no suspects at this time.
