20 OF SAVANNAH SENIOR CITIZENS MODEL IN LOCAL NOV. 13th FASHION SHOW
Seniors aged 55 and older STRUT on the Runway (Flyer Here)
(SAVANNAH) On Sunday, November 13, 2016, the Live Oak Park Organization, LLC (LOPO) and Another TUT Production, LLC will showcase 20 of Savannah’s senior citizens and Atlanta senior models in the 2016 production of Seniors On The Runway Fashion Entertainment Show Tour debuting modern day senior citizens. The show features designs from Atlanta designer Bramer Leon and will be held at Savannah State University Student Union- Event Rooms A, B, & C. Doors open at 1:13 PM. Show starts promptly at 2:13 PM. Tickets are $20 in advanced and $25 at the door. Proceeds to benefit LOPO’s annual events.
Show Organizer TUT says, “Seniors On The Runway is an opportunity for seniors to build a network with other seniors who share the same interest of demonstrating good mental and physical health by displaying their other abilities and talents on the runway. Seniors have been preparing since September and have worked really hard to learn their parts to present a production that their children and grands will be proud to talk about. We glamourize aging and encourage seniors to LIVE. Savannah residents have got to show up because the senior models are going to show out!” LOPO’s CEO Stanley Shavers says, “Savannah will thoroughly enjoy the seniors’ performance. The show is altogether different from other fashion shows. Seniors are getting ready and will be struttin’ for a good cause. Purchasing tickets and filling seats is the least we can do to let seniors know they are valued and appreciated. Seniors do so much for their families and others. It’s time that we return the love. I’m challenging members of the churches where the seniors attend to pack the house and support them!” Even LOPO’s CFO (and founding member) Anthony “Rock” Phillips will be struttin’ on the runway to help raise money for his organization. This senior citizens’ show will be the first of its kind in Savannah as its purpose is to help bring awareness to LOPO’s mission, engage seniors, and encourage others to support causes of the older population.
Another TUT Production (based out of Atlanta, GA) is the fundraising arm for senior programming for Live Oak Park Organization, a 501 (c) 3 company that supports and provide resources to intergenerational communities with a major focus on senior citizens. LOPO, an organization started by all men from the Live Oak Park neighborhood, has been supporting and providing resources to neighborhoods since its inception (1998) 18 years ago. Just as the motto says, LOPO Makes It Happen, the organizations are asking everyone to make it happen for the seniors. Come out and enjoy an afternoon of fashion and entertainment.
