Emergency crews respond to reported Talmadge Bridge jumper

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Emergency crews including Savannah Fire and the Coast Guard responded to River Street Tuesday afternoon after a man jumped into the Savannah River from the Talmadge Bridge.

Officials say a man parked his car along the bridge, got out, and jumped over the railing.  Firefighters were able to pull the man from the water and administer CPR.   He was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital where his condition is unknown.

One lane of the bridge was closed while crews investigated.
