SAVANNAH, Ga. – Elaine Connor was honored Thursday for her selfless work in recognizing and addressing the needs for patients at Chandler Hospital.
She was given the 24th James R. Lientz Humanitarian for helping those in need. Not only did she work closely with the patients, but also their families in difficult situations.
“Elaine deals with patients and their families at their absolute lowest time in their lives,” said one co-worker who nominated her. “She makes them feel validated and heard. She helps them carve out solutions for their loved one’s medical journey and teams with the nurses and Clinical Care Coordination, if appropriate, to come to a comfortable resolution.”
The Lientz award comes with a $3,000 check along with many other perks at the hospital.
Connor has served the hospital community for 30 years and has been nominated for this award 12 times.
