Third Warriors for William run held to hurtle childhood cancer

GARDEN CITY, Ga (WSAV) – It was a super Sunday for those out at Savannah Christian’s school campus, all of it in memory one one super strong boy and his battle with cancer.

The “Warriors for William 5k race” was held this Sunday afternoon for all ages. The race is in memory of William Webb who lost his battle with cancer at a young age.

His mother Danielle began the Warriors for William foundation as a private funding source for childhood cancer research. This run is one of many outlets they use to bring in donations.

“We realized there was a big need to help fund for a cure and that’s really what our foundation and what this day is all about it’s families having fun, kids having fun but at the same time raising awareness for how much we do need to find a cure for childhood cancer,” says Webb.

The foundation hosts several more events throughout the year. William’s family says this year’s run was inspired by William’s love for super heroes. You can find out more about their future events on their social media page.
