(WSAV) – Thousands of people in the Lowcountry were left without power after Hurricane Matthew. That meant our local power companies and cooperatives had to call in linemen from other states to help restore electricity. Some of those linemen were surprised by the generosity of the community as many residents banned together cooking meals, buying snacks and even washing laundry for the linemen here to help. For those who live around here, it comes as no surprise…but the out-of-state linemen said they’d never experienced such kindness. Take a look at the video. We hope it warms your heart the way it did ours. Thanks to Tamela Maxim for the video.
