Nicole now a tropical storm but forecast to restrengthen on Saturday.
At 11pm, the center of Tropical Storm Nicole was about 640 miles south of Cape Race, Newfoundland. Latitude 37.4 north, Longitude 53.3 west.
Nicole is moving toward the ENE near 16 mph. A decrease in forward speed is expected during the next couple of days, with a turn to the east forecast Saturday night.
Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 70 mph with higher gusts. Some restrengthening is expected, and Nicole is expected to produce hurricane-force winds again on Saturday.
Although there is still a chance that Nicole could become post-tropical over the weekend, the cyclone is now forecast to maintain tropical characteristics for the next several days.
