Our Hometown: FCBGC to host 2nd annual Superhero Fun Run October 22

Mark your calendar and make plans to attend.

You’re invited to join the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Clubs next Saturday for their 2nd Annual Superhero Fun Run 5k.

As we continue to recover in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, the race format has changed from a fundraiser to a community event honoring first responders, military, and the unsung heroes who are helping our city through this difficult time- that includes linemen, tree service workers, storm water management, the national guard, and countless other volunteers.

Frank Callen children will be participating in the Race to show their gratitude to everyone who has provided them with clean clothes, food, and a safe place to go home to.

The race kicks off at 8 am, Saturday, October 22.

Pre-registered runners can pick up their packets at Fleet Feet, Friday, October 21, from 10am-6pm.

Registration for timed participants begins at 7am.

You’re encouraged to dress up as your favorite superhero, first responder or unsung hero!

There will also be a kid’s race for children 12 & under.
