SAVANNAH, GA (WSAV) – The Salvation Army of Georgia is helping with relief efforts for the Savannah area by ramping up the areas operations as shelters across the state close and consolidate those residents to shelters closer to their home.
“First responders have been the main focus for The Salvation Army’s initial services in Georgia’s coastal area. As local and state officials clear roads and restore power for returning residents, we will continue to assess the situation and deploy our resources where they are needed most,” said Captain Chris Powell, Incident Commander for the Savannah Incident Management Team.
