Kroger donating water to those affected by Hurricane Matthew

ATLANTA, GA (WSAV) – The Atlanta division of Kroger will be donating multiple of tractor trailers filled with bottled water to the American Red Cross to help those affected by the hurricane.

“It is times like these that communities band together to rebuild lives and homes,” says Esther Sheppard, executive director, Southeast and Coastal Georgia American Red Cross.  “There is an enormous need for water in Savannah as people are returning to their homes and realizing they are not livable. Kroger is the epitome of corporate citizenship at its best, and we are forever grateful for their generosity and commitment to the Savannah and coastal community. This donation will have a profound impact on our efforts for restoration.”

“Our hearts are with the affected communities that have been devastated by this tragic hurricane,” says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “We hope that through this donation to the American Red Cross, we can provide some comfort to our customers living in Savannah and coastal areas.”
