CIS Kids Closet Drive for families devastated by Hurricane Matthew flooding


SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Communities in Schools of Savannah needs the communities support assisting students and families post-Hurricane Matthew.

Many of the students and families served by CIS live in the Westlake Apartments and surrounding area. That part of our community had devastating flooding and damage to their homes during Hurricane Matthew. many lost everything.

Communities in Schools of Savannah is launching the CIS Savannah Kids Closet Drive. The CIS Kids Closet is filled with everything from school supplies and personal care items to uniforms and clothing.

WSAV is a proud supporter of the CIS Savannah Kids Closet Drive and one of the drop off points for donations. So is the UPS Store in the Shopping Center at 2126 East Victory Drive #167.

Here are some of the requested/suggested items:

Personal Hygiene Items – toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, etc.
Child size boys/girls underwear, socks, undershirts
Adult size men/women underwear, socks, undershirts
Feminine Hygiene products
Toilet Paper
Haven Elementary School Uniforms : Youth Sizes, S, M, L, XL Haven Elementary serves K-5 students
Haven Elementary School, School Supplies
Monetary or gift card donations are always welcome too – – specifically VISA, Master Card,  Wal-Mart, Target, & SAMS Club. You may DONATE ONLINE or you may mail your checks payable to Communities in Schools of Savannah and mail them to 2126 East Victory Drive, #167, Savannah, GA  31404.
