5pm Sunday Update: Last NHC Advisory Issued on Matthew

5pm Sunday position of Post Tropical Cyclone Matthew

Winds are diminishing along the North Carolina coast but water levels will remain elevated overnight. Matthew is post tropical… and the National Hurricane Center has issued its last advisory.

At 5pm… the center of post tropical cyclone Matthew is centered around 200 miles east of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. Maximum sustained winds are around 75 mph. The storm is moving east/northeast around 15 mph. The air pressure is 988 mb.

Matthew is expected to continue on a east/northeast tonight.

Some weakening is forecast… and the low is expected  to be absorbed within a frontal boundary on Monday.
