TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. – The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team arrested three people, including a father and son, for selling drugs out of a Tybee Hotel room.
Early Tuesday morning, Tybee Police contacted CNT regarding suspected drug deals at the Sky Suites Hotel on Butler Avenue.
Agents found two rooms of interest and sent in undercover agents to buy drugs from one of the rooms.
After the purchase was made, CNT searched both rooms and found powder cocaine, crack cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, and various prescription drugs as well as $2,000 in cash.
Tybee Island residents Charles Rily Sr. (44) and his son Charles Riley Jr. (23) were arrested.
Riley Sr. and Jr. were charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of Ecstasy with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Marijuana more than One Ounce. Riley Jr. was also charged with Sale of Marijuana. Agents say children were also in the hotel room with Riley Sr. prompting a cruelty to children charge. The children were turned over to a friend of the family and DFCS was notified.
27-year-old Kayla Payne of Savannah was also arrested and charged with Possession a Controlled Substance and served with a marijuana-related warrant out of Liberty County.
All three people are being held in the Chatham County Detention Center.
