More than 100,000 people are waiting for lifesaving organ transplants. Every ten minutes, another person is added to the national transplant waiting list. Thousands more die every year waiting for organ transplants.
The fact is, each organ donor can save up to eight lives. Registering to become an organ donor takes less than a minute, but many people won’t do it because they don’t know the facts.
Today on The Bridge, we’re joined by two people who are the recipients of organ donations: Kris Yager Rushton of LifeLink Georgia — who received a kidney and pancreas in 1998 — and SSU professor Will Martin — who, this month celebrates 14 years of being a double transplant recipient.
