The Bridge: Josey and Angela Sheppard share their son’s journey with Sickle Cell Disease

Sickle Cell Disease is the most common genetic blood disorder in the United States- affecting nearly 100,000 Americans.
September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month, but the disease often goes unnoticed until its impact hits close to home.

Justin Sheppard was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia shortly after he was born. His parents, Josey and Angela Sheppard, join us to share their journey fighting the disease and finding Justin’s cure through a bone marrow transplant.
