POOLER, Ga (WSAV) – Pooler neighbors and first responders came out to paint Pooler park red white and blue this weekend.
It marks the fifth year Pooler patriots gather to celebrate and remember those who risk their lives protecting us and those who lost their lives September 11th fifteen years ago. It’s also an opportunity for locals to meet law enforcement and emergency responders in their community as well as honor the men and woman who protect their community both locally and across the country.
“This is a night to be out with all of our neighbors and for our police to be out here and for our firemen to be out here and for all of the families to come out and to meet them. They’re our friends and they’re out there 24 hours a day seven days a week are looking out for us and protecting us in the city of Pooler and we appreciate them,” says Pooler Mayor Mike Lamb.
Event organizers say it continues to grow each year. Along with the Pooler chamber of commerce and food trucks, this was the largest support from the community it has had since it began in 2011.
