Man shot while walking in Downtown Savannah, Police say

SAVANNAH, Ga. – SCMPD’s Robbery unit is investigating the shooting and attempted robbery of a man near Waldburg and Harmon Streets Sunday night.

Around 10:30pm, police were called to Memorial University Medical Center after Jerrell Thompson arrived with a non-life threatening gun shot wound.  He’d driven to the hospital in a private vehicle.

There, Thompson told police he was walking near Waldburg and Harmon when he was shot by an unknown suspect who was trying to rob him.  Police are still trying to determine exactly where Thompson was shot.
