Our Hometown: Willow Hill Heritage Festival to be held Labor Day weekend

There is a “Thrill on the Hill” this Labor Day weekend at the annual Willow Hill Heritage Festival and Prayer Breakfast.

This Saturday, September 3, organized Bike Rides over the countryside will begin at 8 am at the historic Willow Hill School in Portal, followed by a Prayer Breakfast at 9 with Florida State Representative Larry Lee, Jr., as the guest speaker.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door.
At noon, bring the family to enjoy free activities for the young and young at heart  including free health screenings, Museum tours, Inflatables, an Oratorical Contest, Spelling Bee, Bible Bowl, and Talent show.
There’s also a Pop-Up Museum and oral history interviews focused on the integration of Bulloch County Schools.
Then, on Sunday, September 4, beginning at 2:30, Pastor Frankie and Rev. Jean Owens will host The Gospel Extravaganza.
Soul Food Dinners will be served beginning at 1PM.
Dinners are $8 for adults and $5 for children.
