Hurricane Gaston: Tuesday 5pm Update

Gaston strengthens a little more.

At 5pm, the center of Hurricane Gaston was about 750 miles east of Bermuda, latitude 32.6 north, longitude 51.9 west.  Gaston is moving toward the east-northeast near 10 mph, and this general motion with an increase in forward speed is expected during the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 110 mph with higher gusts.  Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours.

Gaston is not a threat to the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
