CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. – The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office found tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs in a traffic stop on I-16 last week.
The K-9 Unit stopped the tractor trailer headed eastbound near mile marker 154. The driver, Sidney Harrison, was cited for failure to maintain lane and issued a warning.
However, before Harrison could drive off, Tusi the drug sniffing K-9 alerted the deputies prompting an inspection of the tractor trailer.
Deputies found 17.3 pounds of marijuana and 3.3 pounds of cocaine with a street value of around $70,000 dollars.
The tractor trailer was seized and Harrison was charged with trafficking marijuana and cocaine.
