SAVANNAH, Ga. – SCMPD have linked three armed robberies in the Downtown area on August 21st and 22nd.
According to investigators, the first was reported on Sunday August 21st in Whitfield Square on Habersham Street between East Gordon and East Taylor just after 11pm. The victim was playing Pokemon Go when he was approached by at least three men who held the victim at gunpoint and stole his possessions.
The second, also on August 21st, was a carjacking at Drayton and East Charlton Street around 11:30pm. The victims, a man and a woman, were getting into a car when at least two men approached them. The robbers took the victim’s belongings and the car which was later found behind Kayton Homes Gym.
The third robbery happened around 3:15am on August 22nd at a home on the 500 block of East Park Avenue. A man was standing outside the home when he was approached by three men who robbed him at gunpoint. The suspects then forced the man into the home, which was occupied by three others. They robbed the three suspects inside and fondled a female victim before leaving in a black vehicle.
This investigation continues. Persons who share knowledge of these incidents with SCMPD that result in an arrest and conviction are eligible for a monetary reward of up to $10,000.
