Savannah city manager announcement expected Thursday

Announcement to come Thursday morning on Savannah city manager search.

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah could know its candidate for city manager on Thursday.

On Wednesday Savannah City Council, along with the City Manager Search Committee, met behind closed doors for an Executive Session to discuss the latest on the hiring process for city manager.

WSAV can confirm four male candidates has been narrowed down to one finalist.

Mayor Eddie DeLoach announced to local media there will an announcement made about the search Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Council Chambers in City Hall.

The delay in the announcement is to accommodate the candidate and his schedule, says Mayor DeLoach, but is confident that, “He’s the guy.”

“He’s been exposed to what he needs to get done and we’re looking forward to that person coming with us and taking care of us and making our city the number one it can be,” DeLoach said.

Stephanie Cutter announced her resignation from City Manager seven months ago.
