Bloomingdale, GA – The New Hampstead Phoenix football team enters a new era this 2016 season. They enter region play for the first time at AAAAA with a new head football coach, Phillip Richards. Richards follows former head coach Bernard Gaither, who led the Phoenix to a 7-3 season.
Richards has 26 years of football experience here in the Peach State. He says he’s excited to come back home, after attending high school in Savannah at Windsor Forest. Richards said that the transition between the coaches and players has been fairly easy, since he’s been here since February. He’s hoping to grow New Hampstead and reach a higher level. Their first scrimmage game is Thursday, August 11th against Windsor Forest.
