Two people robbed Downtown Thursday morning, police investigating

SAVANNAH, Ga. – SCMPD’s Robbery unit is investigating two armed robberies in Downtown Savannah Thursday morning.

The first happened around 1:00am.  A woman was walking north on Habersham Street near Gaston Lane when she noticed a man was following her.

When she turned, the man was holding a gun and demanded her belongings.  The suspect then fled south down Habersham Street.  He’s described as black man in his 20s or younger standing around 5 foot 9 to 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighing around 190 pounds.

He was wearing a black crew neck shirt and jeans during the robbery.

The second robbery happened around 8:00am on East Duffy and Drayton.  Police say the victim, an elderly man, was knocked off his bicycle by three men who demanded the victim’s money at gunpoint.  They were last seen running east on Duffy Street.

The suspects are described as black men in their 20s or early 30s all around 5 foot 6 to 5 foot 8 inches tall. One suspect wore a light blue shirt, dark jeans and tennis shoes. Another suspect wore a blue shirt with flowers, dark jeans and tennis shoes. The last suspect is described as wearing jeans and tennis shoes.
