National Night Out events scheduled for next week

SAVANNAH, GA – (WSAV) The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department prepares to team up with local neighborhoods to host the annual National Night Out August 2nd. Members of the SCMPD Command Staff, Precinct Commanders, Crime Prevention Officers, Patrol Officers, Civic leaders and McGruff the Crime Dog will visit participating neighborhoods from 5 to 8 p.m.

National Night Out is an annual, nationwide community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live. The program culminates annually on the first Tuesday of August. Neighbors participate across thousands of communities from all 50 states, United States territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.
