SAVANNAH, Ga. – A teenage brother and sister accused of luring a man to their neighborhood to try and rob and carjack him before leading police on a chase earlier this month have been denied bond.
19 year old Davontay jones had his first appearance in Chatham county recorders court Thursday
Detectives say in the early morning of July 12th, Davontay and his 13-year-old sister Jonlesha jones, used a profile on the website meetme.com to bring a man to their neighborhood so they could rob him.
Testimony shows the victim came to the home and Jonlesha got in the victims car with her brother. She was carrying her infant brother at the time.
When the car stopped, Davontay allegedly hit the victim in the back of the head with a hammer and took off with his car, with the infant brother inside.
After a short chase, they crashed the car near Staley Avenue and the two teens ran. Davontay had took the baby and left him behind a shed. He was found two hours later with abrasions to his face.
The pair were eventually picked up by police.
The Detective said the pair admitted to doing this robbery scheme two times before.
