While many students head back to school next week — some parents in our area are struggling to find a way to buy school supplies.
This Saturday, July 30, Southside Fire will be helping to relieve some of that stress- by supplying essential items to get kids started on their first day.
They’ll also show students around their fire engine, ladder truck and ambulance in an effort to help them better understand how they do their job.
The event takes place 9 am to noon at Lake Mayer on East Montgomery Cross Road.
It’s free and open to the public.
Children must be present to receive school supplies.
