The East side of Savannah has been designated a food desert within our community.

Friday, July 15, area neighbors in need will have access to free, fresh produce.

Beginning at 10 am, the YMCA of Coastal Georgia in collaboration with Everybody Eats Fresh Free Fridays (E2F3) hosts Fresh Express at the Curtis V. Cooper Primary Health Care facility on East Broad Street.

Each person will receive two bags of produce, free of charge, until all donations are gone.

In Coastal Georgia, nearly 150,000 residents are food insecure, with an estimated 83,000 children being at-risk for hunger.
