Robbery and Stabbing suspect stopped by victim and bystanders

SAVANNAH, Ga. – SCMPD investigators say a man is behind bars after an armed robbery and stabbing around 9:00pm Sunday.

It happened near the intersection of Bull and Broughton streets, that’s were police say 29-year-old Enrique Jenkins snatched a woman’s purse and tried to run.  He was confronted by the victim’s husband and a bystander.  That’s when investigators say Jenkins pulled out a knife and stabbed the two men before running off.

He was arrested within minutes on Yates Streets in Yamacraw Village after tips were called in from witnesses who followed him.

Detectives urge any other witnesses or potential victims to come forward to help in the investigation.
