SAVANNAH, Ga (WSAV) – An eastside Savannah home peppered with bullets and somehow no one was hurt. The family is left with many unanswered questions.
Neighbors told the Bells that they heard a car speed off after rapid gunfire and dozens of bullets pierced through the home as their six children were asleep.
“I woke up to gunshots, boom, boom, boom something like that,” says Ericka Bell.
Around 2 AM Friday, the Bell family “heard” what at first sounded like someone throwing a rock at the house. When Ericka Bell went to the front door, she was in shock.
“I walked around and said oh my lord Jesus, the house just got shot up.”
Dozens of rounds peppered the home. Bell says Metro police counted at least forty five bullet casings on the street.
“They say it had to have been someone that was driving, it was three weapons that was used also as well as a laser.”
None of bell’s six children nor her husband were injured in the gunfire. That’s an amazing reality considering how close the bullets landed within proximity of the family.
“My daughter was in the far back room which bullets pierced through the walls into their room but the dresser was so happen to stop those bullets.”
Bell is thankful they’re alive, but she’s left with so many questions.
“The reason why and who would do something with six children in the home and also two adults a total of eight people in the home.”
Metro police tell News 3 they are following leads as they continue to investigate this shooting.
